Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec is one of the legendary artists of 19th-century Paris, famous for traversing the nightspots of the city’s Montmartre district, always with a sketchbook in hand. He was a superb draftsman, able to capture the motion, emotion, and energy of Parisian society with just a few deft strokes of his pencil.

This book is a hefty- but riveting- bio of Toulouse-Lautrec. From start to finish, I couldn't put it down. Photos throughout the book, as well as a color section of artwork, makes this book A+. Even if you aren't a fan of his work, I Lautrec by Lautrec book you'll find this a wonderful read/5.

It includes fine prints, posters, illustrations, book jackets, sheet music, menus, and other incidental forms. The lithographs show Lautrec's superb handling of highly simplified line and large areas of flat color.
